So Many Choices!

Have you ever noticed that you can go weeks without any special plans & then suddenly you'll be invited to three events that are all on the same day & time? It seems to happen to me all the time, but this month more than ever. My sister scheduled a wine tasting party the same night my good friends planned our annual trek to Knott's Scary Farm (hard decision, but family wins). I'm invited to London for work, my husband's 20 year high school reunion & Mario Lopez' birthday party all fall on the same weekend (hubby wins, but really only because of last minute travel problems with London). Just this week I was asked to be a presenter at the Annual ERA (Electronic Retail Awards) in Las Vegas the same night as the Fox Reality Really Awards. I tried my hardest to attend both. I'm really fascinated by the whole Direct Response Industry & I was looking forward to all the educational seminars at the convention. Plus, I was flattered that they asked me (a fledgling host) to present. But the Fox Reality Awards is a REALLY fun event, I have tons of friends who work there, I have a great time doing the Reality Remix Roundtable & I am truly a fan of reality television. I was also one of the judges for the awards this year. At the event virtually every reality star from every reality show hangs out in a fun, casual, booze filled venue. Last year I saw "parts" of Chynna Doll that I'm still trying to erase from my brain! My initial plan was to attend the ERA show & all the events, present the award & fly straight to LA for the Fox party. Hey, I would already be in a cute dress, it could have worked! But, I decided it was a crazy idea & I was having so much fun in Vegas that I decided to stay. Check out the clip of all the excitement that I missed at The Really Awards! Reality Stars mixed with alcohol always makes must see TV!

just caught up on the blog...wow!

when it rains it pours -- doesn’t it always go that way...it seems like there are those days just when you feel all caught up and then...bang, everything new at once...as far as your sched, some tough choices...but, I hear your presentation was brilliant at the ERA event - and, infomercials are simply better off for having you as part of them...as far as education, I had heard there were some great seminars, and few about the biz in general, even a how to book on the entire process of infomercials, from concept to final marketing via infomercials - great stuff...in any case, your choice to go I am sure was a good one. And, Rumor has it, you're right, the choice of dress was really cute. by the way, your "husbands 10 year HS reunion" places him at 28, or stuck in HS for many more years than most - don’t get me wrong the 6th grade was the best two years of my life...and, Vegas "fun" I don't believe that for a second... keep the stories coming, they're always enjoyed, and, whether you're at the reality stars after party, or the not-so-hip ERA awards function, always, always turn off your cell phones - they really can interrupt reality...

Wow!! And your last post was titled "Busy, busy, busy".
In your July 21st post you posted that Diane and her partner were opening a Wine bar at the Verge development. In this post you mentioned that Diane was having a wine tasting party. Was this a prelude to the opening, or is "Classic Vines" now open?
If so, I wish her well in her new venture.

Believe it or not, Rob was able to make the reality awards show - he was looking for you there!

Gary,
Classic Vines is still more than a year away. I'll be sure to keep you updated.
Broph,
Sorry I missed Rob. Did he stay for all the excitement at the end?
Bryce,
You caught me, I did change the number. Math was never one of my strengths :-) & better you look crazy...right? I will have to disagree with you questioning Vegas "fun". It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...

Erin, Rob actually had to leave before all the excitement. He had to get back to work to plan for another upcoming event. Apparently at the awards show, they lost power for an hour and a half and he couldn't stay any longer. He did get to meet a lot of people, including Danny Bonaduce, Sanjia, China and Chris Knight and Adrian - he posted the pics on his MySpace Page

I asked him if he had seen the "hug" and faceplant and he told me about missing that part - and how he was searching all over for the video. Thanks to your blog, I was able to tell him exactly where to find it!
