Milt Larsen, the Magic Castle & Me!

Was so excited to attend the book release party for Milt Larsen, the founder of one of the happiest places on earth: The Magic Castle. Even more excited to find out that I'm IN the book! What many people don't know is that Milt Larsen got his SAG card doing the 'table yank trick' doubling for Uncle Arthur (Paul Lynde). You can read the story on pages 72-73 of My Magical Journey The First 30,000 days.
Also there were Tracy Weisert, Geri Jewell, Jeraldine Saunders, Alison Arngrim, Kate Linder, Tippi Hedren, Barbara Van Orden and Ruta Lee. Photos by Bill Dow.

A Snow White Christmas at the Pasadena Playhouse!

If you're looking for the perfect way to introduce your kids to theater, bring them to A Snow White Christmas at the historic Pasadena Playhouse. Lithgoe Family Productions brings the interactive and humorous British family 'Panto' to California. The cast includes my friend Charlene Tilton as the Evil Queen, Ariana Grande (Nickelodeon's Victorious) as Snow White and Neil Patrick Harris as the Magic Mirror. The updated classic, includes modern music and tons of fun TV references. I loved it!! Also in attendance: Lucy Lawless, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Colby Smulders (who sat a couple seats away from me with her adorable daughter).
The show runs till December 30th and tickets are available at the box office or on the Pasadena Playhouse website. www.pasadenaplayhouse.org

The Fabulous Pantages!

This week I had the pleasure of going to one of my favorite places in the entire world, The Pantages Theatre! I attended Opening Night of Donny & Marie's Christmas in Los Angeles. The show was a perfect blend of Christmas music, Broadway classics and TV fun. As a California girl, I've been going to the Pantages since I was a kid. The first show I saw there was Camelot with Richard Burton. I loved it so much, I saw it twice (althought the second time Richard Burton had been replaced by Richard Harris). The Pantages is still as glamorous and beautiful as ever. There's something wonderful about getting all dressed up for a show. Wouldn't a pair of theater tickets make a perfect Christmas gift?
