R-E-S-P-E-C-T!
I have been a proud supporter of the LGBT community for as long as I can remember. As a parent I think that tolerance, acceptance and empathy are some of the most valuable traits we can pass on to our children. I can't imagine how boring the world would be if everyone was exactly the same! I was honored to attend the GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education network) Respect Awards this past weekend at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Joe Manganiello presented Matt Bomer and his husband Simon Halls with the Inspiration Award for their commitment to family and causes they care for.
The hilarious Jim Parsons presented Marilyn and Jeffrey Katzenberg with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Also present were Wilson Cruz, Academy Award Winner Octavia Spencer, Amy Adams (who loved my dress!) and my dear friend Steve Wishnoff.
The Beverly Hills Hotel is always a lovely venue for an event. Food was delicious: filet, fish, and 2 (!) desserts. The lobster taco appetizers were my favorite.
For those interested in fashion, I wore Louboutin pumps, Prada bag and vintage dress and earrings. Please take a minute to visit the GLSEN website to read about their wonderful programs. www.GLSEN.org
