Starbucks Addiction!
Ok, I admit it...I'm addicted to Starbucks. I can't help it, their coffee is just SO good. No matter how hard I try, coffee just doesn't taste as good when I make it at home. I use the same coffee beans, the same flavored syrup & it's somehow not quite right. I'm pretty sure that some day a study will be conducted that shows Starbucks has some "secret" ingredient that they slip in the cup that makes their coffee so delicious. I'm not apologizing for my love. As far as addictions go, coffee & chocolate are relatively harmless. The caffeine speeds up my metabolism, takes away headaches, & just makes me feel better. One word of advice for my germ obsessed readers (which I most definitely am not!): Have you ever noticed that when people take their coffee drink to the sugar / milk station they remove the plastic top & put it face down on the ledge? That means the top part that touches your lips is touching the "germy" counter. I flip the lid over so the bottom of the lid rests on the counter when I add three splendas to my venti nonfat sugar free vanilla latte. I tell you, it's a sickness!!
Hey, Erin-
ReplyDeleteI agree! I love Starbucks - Caramel Macchiato and Caramel Frappucino are my favorites! I cannot make it at home either.
Chocolate is my favorite food. I like both milk and dark varieties.
Good strong coffee has kept me a nice person every morning for thirty years! I'm Starbucks-addicted as well, and prefer my grande caramel macchiato with real sugar. I've tried liking Splenda, but the under-taste of it just gives me the blues.
ReplyDeletehi Erin!
ReplyDeleteplease can you tell me what's "splendas", "venti" and "latte". I don't know these words & I don't find their translation... thanks! :p
bye
I raise my hand and proudly say "Triple Venti Dolce Cinnamon Late please!" And you know what the evil Starbucks has done here? Built a drive thru!!! I use to do the Caramel Macchiato until I met the Cinnamon Dolce Latte. Try it you guys/gals! YUUUMMMM E!
ReplyDeleteAlex,
ReplyDeleteVenti is an extra large at Starbucks, Splenda is a calorie free sugar substitute made from sugar & latte is a delicious coffee drink with steamed milk.
ok, thanks a lot! ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Erin,
ReplyDeleteI work at Starbucks in a town outside of Seattle (cliche, I know). Because you've kept me entertained for years on tv, magazines and now your blog, I will share with you the secret to making that perfect latte (or in my case a tall-soy-no water-chai)...
Passion.
Barista's who genuinely love their coffee will always make a better latte.
It's like sandwiches. No sandwich tastes as good as the one Mom makes for you in the morning for lunch.
If you're in Seattle, drop by and say hi. We'll do coffee!
